On the occasion of the Arbaeen of the Sayyid and Commander of the Martyrs, Hazrat Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein (peace be upon him), the Manchester Hazara Community Association organised a community cleaning and garbage collection program on 2 August 2026 at Openshaw – Vine Street Park, Manchester. The initiative was undertaken with the aim of promoting the values of Hussaini culture, particularly social responsibility, compassion, cooperation, and service to the wider community.

As part of the program, members and volunteers of the association came together to clean Vine Street Park and several surrounding streets in the vicinity of the association’s building. Participants collected litter and rubbish, cleaned public spaces, and worked collectively to improve the appearance and cleanliness of the local area.

The program served not only as a practical community service activity but also as a meaningful expression of the values associated with the legacy of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). Through voluntary service and collective action, the participants demonstrated that remembering the message of Karbala also means serving society, caring for the environment, supporting one another, and contributing positively to the community in which we live.

The Manchester Hazara Community Association is committed to encouraging such initiatives and strengthening a culture of volunteerism, civic responsibility, and community participation. The successful completion of the cleaning program reflected the spirit of unity and cooperation among community members and provided an opportunity to honour the occasion of Arbaeen through meaningful service to the local community.
